The Barons (members Bob Yarborough (died 7-July-2007 --- cause: ?), Alfonso Brown, Frank Joyner and Sheppard Grant) group formed around 1950 in Harlem.

The Singing Wanderers (members Bob Yarborough, Ray Pollard, Frank Joyner and Sheppard Grant) this was the 1953 group line-up. Ray Pollard (born 25-August-1930 --- died 26-January-2005 in Las Vegas --- cause: cancer) joins group after being discharged from the army (Ray saw action in Korea and had lost his left hand. The hand seen in photographs is a prosthesis).
