Rudy West & The Five Keys

The Sentimental Four (members Rudy West (born 25-July-1933 in Newport News, Virginia --- died 14-May-1988 --- cause: heart attack following cancer treatment), Bernie West, Ripley Ingram (born 21-January-1930 --- died 23-March-1995 --- cause: ?) and Raphael Ingram) 1945 gospel group from which The Five Keys originated -- no known recordings.  

The Sentimental Four (members Rudy West, Bernie West, Ripley Ingram, Raphael Ingram and Edwin Hall) 1949 lineup. Mid 1949 Raphael Ingram gets drafted as is replaced by James "Dickie" Smith, former member of local group The Virginia Brown Dots.

Capitol 2945 - Ling, Ting, Tong* / I'm Alone* - 1954 *lead Maryland Pierce --- this track was also recorded in 1954 by The Charms on Deluxe 6076.  (Rudy West is discharged from the army and rejoins the group -- Ulysses Hicks is kept on with the intention of phasing him out, all this is done with his knowledge)
