Eddie Beal

Cass 100 - Noop Noop / The Monkey's Wedding - 1958 (this recently discovered 45 features movie soundtrack vocalist Marni Nixon who sings the "A"-side title, the song is a uptempo word-jazzy duet with bass lead, possibly Herb Reed of the Platters and other members joining in behind Nixon's heavily echoed Betty Boop-styled response ("noop noop" apparently means "nope nope"). Strong male vocal group backing and R&B sax solo. According to the song’s writer and producer Skip Carmel, the group was "whatever group Eddie Beal was working with at the time," though he was fairly sure it was Reed with whom Carmel and Beal worked in San Francisco. The flip, "The Monkey's Wedding" uses similar vocal exchange, but has a weaker group presence)
