Trivia

Karen 321 - The M. C. Twine (Part 1) / The M. C. Twine (Part 2) - 1965. The idea for this record was Ollie McLaughlin's, it was based on "The Twine" a dance around Detroit made popular by Alvin Cash & The Crawlers on their 1965 recording "Twine Time"on Mar-V-Lus 6002 . He asked Matt Lucas to wander around Detroit and put a song together after he got a feel of his surroundings. Matt Lucas then came up with "The Motor City Twine". The record was recorded at United Sound in Detroit using Motown musicians) When the 45 was released no white radio station would play it.

Matt Lucas used to date Xavier Hollander (The Happy Hooker) of Penthouse magazine fame.
