The Versalettes (members Theresa Legg, Viola Floyd, Kathleen Spates and Vera Regulus with musicians Elmore Nunn (guitar), Bernard Reed (bass), Frank McCoy (piano) and Kenneth Hollis (drums)) backing band until group secured a contract.
